New Website and Updates

April 29, 2025

My website received a much needed makeover. With this upgrade, my pages are more accessible, and the best news is that this blog feature is actually interactive! Now, readers can leave comments and share posts on vairous platforms. Seeing as how my last blog post was two years ago (!!), perhaps I will be motivated to keep up with these entries with this revamped site editor.

So, what’s new in my art world? Over the past couple of years, I have participated in local juried shows and won a few Juror Awards!

Above: my painting, “Hi, Honey,” won a Juror Award at the 2024 Pittsford Fine Art Open Show.

I joined Women in Watercolor (my first membership in a national art organization) and plan to enter their international exhibition soon.

Speaking of exhibitions… I was floored to learn that my painting, “Askew,” was accepted into the Memorial Art Gallery’s 69th Finger Lakes Exhibition! This competition is held every other year, and this year, there were 2,211 entries by over 800 artists— and only 90 artworks were selected for the exhibit! The exhibit will run from June 28-October 5. It will be my first time having my artwork displayed in a museum (not to mention, the Memorial Art Gallery is a historic fixture of the Rochester-Finger Lakes region). A decade ago, I stepped into the halls of this museum as a new PhD student at the University of Rochester. Younger me would never have imagined my artwork hanging in the very same halls.

If you’ve been following my work over the years, you may have noticed the progression of my work from loose, suggestive landscape paintings to realistic, heavily detailed renderings. As someone who preferred to move through paintings quickly, finishing a piece in an hour or two, I can’t believe I spend weeks laboring over a piece of paper. Then again, it’s a labor of love.

Happy painting, everyone!
